Gibbon is named after the Gibbon River running through Yellowstone National Park. We lived in the beautiful state of Montana for several years and lost count as to the number of times we visited Yellowstone. The Gibbon River twists and turns through narrow canyons, great meadows and thermal areas. Gibbon is the senior statesman around Cedar Creek. He is my favorite and he knows it. No need for him to be on a leash - he is by my side wherever we go. Even when we take several of our dogs for a walk through the forest, or hiking in the mountains, he resists the urge to run ahead with the others and walks right by me. Even though I give him permission to run with the others, he chooses to stay by my side.
He is doesn't know a stranger and is a a gentle giant. He has the biggest heart of love of any dog I have known. He is eternally patient with our litters of puppies as they grow. He is so gentle with our puppies and even lets them chew on his soft ears till he cries. He is a talker. We always know what is on his mind. He moans and groans with pleasure when being brushed, or petted, or just talked to. His favorite sleeping position is on his back, spread eagle. Gibbon has beautiful confirmation and his markings are striking. He has a strong, boxy head, and his structure is large and solid. Gibbon comes from great stock and it shows in his offspring. And so it is for the Gibbon River that Gibbon is named. OFA Hips: Good
